Police responded to the scene within minutes and found the victim on the ground next to his truck with a gunshot wound.
The man was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills in critical condition.
Authorities had been on the lookout for the suspect, later identified as Jones, who they said left the scene as a passenger in a gray, Ford Fusion with heavily tinted windows and no license plate.
Jones was arraigned in 47th District Court, and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. A judge set his bond at $1 million, cash/surety.
