1. 42nd Annual Holiday Extravaganza and Parade
All are invited to enjoy the free fun and festivities in Downtown Pontiac at the 42nd Annual Holiday Extravaganza and Parade this weekend! This community-oriented event features a 5K Elf Run, a holiday parade, meet-and-greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus, petting farm, trackless train rides, face painting, and ice-carving. Plus, the Fran Anderson Making a Difference Scholarship Program awards four students from Auburn Hills, Pontiac, Waterford, and White Lake with $5,000 for their essays focused on community service.

Wayne County is aglow for the holidays with its annual Lightfest, which is running now through Dec. 31. This beloved Metro Detroit holiday tradition is a magical four-mile stretch of Hines Park that begins at 7651 N. Merriman Road. Pack the whole family in the car and cruise through nearly 50 animated themed displays and more than 100,000 lights. Check out the Wayne County Lightfest this weekend at Hines Park in Westland.

Noel Night returns to Midtown Detroit for its 49th year with live music, special holiday performances, beautiful outdoor art installations, ice sculpting, Santa Claus sightings and more. With over 90 participating venues, this walkable holiday celebration also features free indoor and outdoor programming, shopping, yuletide treats, caroling, family craft activities, artist demonstrations, food trucks and more. Noel Night happens Saturday, Dec. 2, from 5 p.m. - 10 p.m. across Midtown Detroit.

4. Wild Lights at the Detroit Zoo
The Detroit Zoo will once again light up the night this winter season with Wild Lights, a dazzling display of holiday decorations! Check out millions of LED lights illuminating trees, buildings and more than 290 sculptures throughout the front half of the zoo. Take in the sights and sounds of the season while exploring an enchanted trail. Plus, enjoy live entertainment, experience a 4D movie and grab some food and drinks on the Polar Patio!

The 2023 Kris Kringle Market returns to Downtown Rochester this weekend! This open-air market features fresh greens & wreaths, handcrafted gifts and specialty foods for the holiday season. A feast for the senses, visitors can take in the sounds of holiday music, the aroma of great food and the ambiance created by tents adorned with garland and lights. Kids can also enjoy a visit and a photo with Santa Claus! This jolly-good time happens Friday, Dec. 1 and Saturday, Dec. 2.
