1. Tons of Trucks at the Detroit Zoo

Enjoy a day at the Detroit Zoo — and Tons of Trucks, too! At Tons of Trucks, you’ll be able to touch and climb vehicles from the Zoo, local police and fire departments, construction companies and more. While there, don’t forget to snap a photo or two with a safety pup and a Detroit Zoo mascot! Event tickets include Zoo admission, so you’ll also enjoy a fun-filled day at the Zoo, complete with special animal engagements and more!

2. DNR Harvest Family Campout

Get warmed up for a Harvest Family Campout at the DNR Outdoor Adventure Center! Learn how to pitch a tent and enjoy fun for the entire family, with s’more kits, crafts, and a pancake breakfast that will be provided for every registered guest. Loaner tents are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the time of your reservation. Each site can accommodate up to 6 people with an 8-person tent. Don’t forget to pack a sleeping bag, air mattress and pillow!

3. Clawson Record and CD Show

Metro Detroit music fans aren’t going to want to miss this! The Clawson Record and CD Show is back this weekend at the Knights of Columbus in Downtown Clawson. There will be dealers from across the midwest, and Metro Detroit’s original artists, with dozens of tables of great vinyl. Uncover unique musical treasures while exploring dozens of tables of records, music posters, rock photos and more!

4. FrankenFest Detroit

Spooky season is creeping up, and Detroiters can kick it off this weekend at Historic Ford Wayne! FrankenFest Detroit features mad, magical and mystical artwork from the area's most intriguing vendors stitched together with a showcase of literary guests, haunt aficionados and paranormal experts. Experience the electrifying attractions, monstrous exhibits and inspiring artwork as this unique festival returns to Detroit.

Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Historic Ford Wayne in Detroit

5. Oktoberfest at Canterbury Village

Canterbury Village is celebrating Oktoberfest with a two-day party on the C-Pub patio! Break out the 'dirndl and lederhosen' and head to the Lake Orion attraction for live music, themed food, traditional Oktoberfest games, and beer. The fun kicks off at 1 p.m., and the first 150 people will receive a free Canterbury Village beer mug. Plus, enjoy live music from Fröhliche Musiker Blasorchester on Saturday and Aaron Dussing Band on Sunday.
