(WWJ) The rain clouds have cleared out, making way for a beautiful weekend with lots going on in Metro Detroit. So, let's get to it!

Here are our top picks for events across our area, brought to you by WWJ's Don't Miss List with Pat Vitale.

1. Parker's Alley in Bloom

Thursday, Sept. 25-Sunday, Sept. 28
Parker's Alley, Detroit

It's an immersive experience filled with Instagram-worthy moments, hands-on flower crafts, prize wheel fun, and sweet cannoli from San Morello. Discover curated installations from Detroit-based florists, and an array of vendors stretching from the vibrant Parker's Alley to Woodward Avenue, the Book Tower, and beyond.

2. Hayride Central

Every Friday, through Halloween
Heritage Park, Farmington Hills

The wagons are ready to roll for some fall family fun! Enjoy a hayride through the trails of Heritage Park, every Friday, through Oct. 31. After the ride, purchase a cup of cider and s'more kit to roast around a cozy campfire for just $1. Hayrides leave from the Nature Center parking lot, leave every 1/2 hour from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

3. The American Civil War Experience

Saturday, Sept. 20 & Sunday, Sept. 28
Greenmead Historical Park, Livonia

Join the 17th Michigan Volunteer Regiment Company E for this free living history event! There will be demonstrations of military camp life, drills, musket firing, medical practices, surgery, civilian life, period fashions, phrenology, an amazing display of historical reproduction flags, and more. Stop in the village buildings to see some great exhibits and take a tour. This event is a great opportunity for students of all ages to learn about life during the Civil War era.

4. Optik

Daily until 10PM, through Oct. 3
Beacon Park, Detroit

Optik is an interactive installation that invites individuals to play with their surroundings. With a venue theme of “Light, Energy and Motion," Beacon Park transforms into a vibrant space filled with lights, abstract sounds, melodic music — plus and curated cocktails and mocktails by Lumen Detroit in an open-air setting, designed to create a one-of-a-kind experience. Free admission.

5. 117th Model T Birthday Party

Sunday, Sept. 28, 10AM-3PM
Ford Piquette Plant, Detroit

Happy Birthday to the Model T! Celebrate the day in 1908 when the first Model T was produced at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant. Enjoy free Model T rides and vintage vehicles on display. Eat and shop with local vendors and enjoy kids’ activities in the Piquette Assembly Room on the first floor of the museum. Model T rides are first-come, first-serve until 3 p.m. Free birthday cake is served at Noon while supplies last. Admission prices are $10 to $20 for museum entry and guided tours.
