1. Royal Oak Taco Fest

What better way to kick off the summer than with Tacos, Cerveza, and Tequila! Head to downtown Royal Oak this holiday weekend for a street festival with delicious foods from over 50 taquerias and eateries, plus ice-cold margaritas, four stages of live entertainment, a kidzone, and more! The event will also feature some of Metro Detroit’s most impressive musical talent, with a wide range of artists that will please any crowd.

2. Northville Summer Carnival

The Northville Chamber once again hosts Elliott's Amusements for the 2023 Northville Summer Carnival this weekend! For over a decade, Elliott's Amusements has served Michigan by providing family entertainment in a safe, clean and exciting atmosphere. Located right in the heart of downtown Northville, the Northville Summer Carnival midway will have something for everyone, including a variety of rides, games, delicious carnival foods and more!

3. Salute to America at The Henry Ford

An exuberant collection of songs, food and fanfare connects families, friends and neighbors at Salute to America at The Henry Ford! Enjoy your favorite summer treats as you stroll and listen to performance groups across the beautiful Greenfield Village, each showcasing a diverse assembly of music from American history, including choral singing, ragtime, jazz and more. Then grab a blanket, get comfortable and take a seat on the Village Green for a three-part grand finale, including a full Detroit Symphony Orchestra performance for the first time since 2019.

4. Independence Fest 2023

It’s our Nation’s birthday and you can celebrate in Metro Detroit at Independence Fest 2023! Purchase tasty goodies on-site, including many of your carnival favorites, then shop a variety of local crafters and watch awesome live entertainment. There will be fun for the entire family. Bring lawn chairs and blankets and hang out at Clintonwood Park in Clarkston! Stay through the evening and enjoy the awesome fireworks display.

5. LightUp Livernois

Get ready to LightUp Livernois! The annual event from Detroit's Independent Business Association returns along Livernois Avenue between 6 and 8 Mile Roads, and will feature open studios, a runway fashion show, and awe-inspiring art installations. Check out some of Detroit’s best artists and enjoy a variety of eateries, music, and independent businesses along Livernois during this great outdoor festival.

Saturday, July 1 from 12 p.m. - 10 p.m. on Livernois Ave between 6 Mile and 8 Mile in Detroit
