1. Downtown Street Eats

Michigan’s largest weekly food truck experience is celebrating its 11th season at Cadillac Square and Woodward Esplanade in Downtown Detroit! Happening now through the fall, Downtown Street Eats will feature 80 food trucks, vendors and small businesses, which will rotate every Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Monday - Friday from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. in Cadillac Square and Woodward Esplanade

2. Birding Belle Isle

It’s time for Birding at Belle Isle! Bird watchers will meet this weekend just west of the MacArthur Bridge and caravan around different locations of the island to spot migrant waterfowl on the waters of the Detroit River, inland canals and lagoons. Staff will provide a spotting scope to share among guests, and a limited number of binoculars will be available for loan.

Sunday, April 16 from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Belle Isle in Detroit

3. Michigan Science Center After Dark: World Space Party

The Michigan Science Center’s “After Dark” series is back with a “World Space Party” theme. The evening features adults-only access to the museum, plus music, food, drinks, science demonstrations and a Laser Lizzo light show. Guests can also enjoy science presentations on the James Webb Space Telescope and interplanetary research, including humans visiting Mars, and more!

Saturday, April 15 from 6 p.m. - 11 p.m. at the Michigan Science Center

4. GreenFest at the Detroit Zoo

It’s easy (and fun) being green at the Detroit Zoo! GreenFest is a weekend-long festival featuring a sustainable vendor market, a variety of plant-based food trucks, live music, education stations and eco-friendly activities, a scavenger hunt and much more. With a theme of “In With the Old,” this year’s festival will focus on re-purposing old materials into new products — saving the planet by diverting from the landfill one item at a time.

Saturday, April 15 - Saturday, April 16 at the Detroit Zoo

5. Salsa Dance Party at The Cube

Grab your dancing shoes and get ready to move! Salsa Dance Party returns to The Cube inside Orchestra Hall, and fan-favorite salsa instructor Mambo Marci will also be back in action. The evening will begin with a group salsa dance lesson led by Mambo Marci, followed by an open dance floor the rest of the night featuring live music by Orquesta Ritmo and DJ sets by DJ Fercho.
