BRIGHTON (WWJ) - Authorities say a deadly crash on eastbound I-96 claimed the life of one woman while two other people were sent to the hospital with injuries on Sunday night.
Michigan State Police identified Melissa Fletcher, 54, of Detroit as the deceased driver involved in a two-vehicle crash on the freeway near Grand River Ave. in Brighton Township.
Troopers say the crash occurred around 9:17 p.m. Sunday.
The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, state police added.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. No other details were released by authorities.
