WIXOM (WWJ) A Wixom man, allegedly attacked by a DoorDash Driver in December, has died, his family told multiple news outlets.

Lloyd Poole, 75, passed away from his injuries in mid-May, after the attack left him in need of several brain surgeries.

According to FOX 2 Detroit, he had to have part of skull removed and remained in a coma.

Wixom Police said they received reports of a man lying unconscious in the road, in the area of Wixom and Glengary roads, on December 28th. Their preliminary investigation revealed the DoorDash Driver, Daniel Turner, went to the police station and confessed to punching Poole. Turner, 40, said the fight broke out after Poole confronted him about speeding through the neighborhood.

Poole's family told CBS Detroit that the medical examiner ruled his death a homicide by blunt force trauma.

Turner was arraigned on Aggravated Assault after the attack. Oakland County prosecutors told multiple news sources he will face more severe charges.

Poole was a husband, father and stepfather.
