ROSEVILLE (WWJ) — The cause of a deadly house fire in Roseville over the weekend is under investigation.
Police officers were called to a home on Common Road — near Groesbeck and 13 Mile Roads — around 10:45 a.m. after getting reports of a "house explosion," according to Roseville Police Chief Mitch Berlin.
When officers showed up they found the home fully engulfed in flames and the fire department was called to the scene.
An 82-year-old man who lived in the home was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released. Police officials did not say whether any other people or pets were in the home.
The cause of the apparent explosion is not known.
Officials do not believe foul play was involved.
