(WWJ) Nine people were shot, one of them killed, in less than a four-hour span over the weekend in Detroit.
Detroit Police are investigating at least nine shootings that took place between 10:45 Saturday night and 2:25 a.m. Sunday.
The deadly shooting happened early Sunday in a neighborhood off Outer Drive and Gratiot. Police say a 24-year-old man was riding his bike when someone in a dark-colored vehicle pulled up and started shooting. The victim died at the scene while the suspect sped off.
In another incident, at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, a 22-year-old man was refueling his Jeep near Warren and the Southfield Freeway when he was shot and critically injured. Police said three suspects are being sought in that case.
At just about the same time, at Manor and Tireman on the west side, police said a 22-year-old victim stopped in his Chrysler when a stranger walked up to his car and tapped on the window -- then firing multiple shots. The victim was listed in stable condition.
At around 11 p.m. Saturday, a 17-year-old boy was shot and wounded as he got out of his car in the 9500 block of Mendota, near W. Chicago. Police said the suspect may have fired shots from a dark colored Dodge Durango. The teen was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
At around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, another victim was attending a party on Forrer St., south of 8 Mile Rd. near the Lodge Freeway, when someone fired shots into the home and she was struck. The 30-year-old was hospitalized in stable condition.
At this point, there is no indicated that any of these shooting are related.
