Police searching for shooter after bicyclist gunned down in Detroit

(WWJ) Detroit police are investigating the fatal shooting of a bicyclist, early Sunday morning on the city's east side.

It happened just before 12:30 a.m., in the area of Annsbury Ave. and Glenfield Ave., in the area of Gratiot Ave. and Outer Dr., according to investigators.


Police said a 24-year-old male victim was traveling north on Annsbury with his bicycle when a dark-colored vehicle pulled up. Someone in the car began firing multiple gunshots at the victim, striking him, before speeding away north on Annsbury.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead by EMS at the scene.

There have been no arrests and there is no description of the suspect, as the investigation continues.
