FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) An accused killer—identified by the victim as a longtime friend—has been found dead in Detroit.

Farmington Hills Police said Kevin Curtis Moore, 43, had apparently not been seen or heard from since he allegedly shot and killed his friend, DeJuan White, in mid-August.

The Detroit Police Department contacted Farmington Hills detectives this Wednesday, saying they had found Moore's 2006 Chevy Trailblazer in a parking lot near Shelby and Larned. The Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office (ME) informed Farmington Hills PD and U.S. Marshals that a body matching Moore's description had been brought in within days of the August homicide.

This Thursday, the ME confirmed they had positively identified the body as Kevin Moore.

It's unclear how Moore died.

Farmington Hills Police said Moore was wanted for the murder of White, 40, on 4 a.m. August 13, in the area of 12 Mile and Drake Road.

White died of his injuries—but not before uttering Moore's name to detectives and calling him "a lifelong friend", according to an article from the Oakland Press.

The motive for the killing is unknown.

Moore was considered "armed and dangerous." Investigators believed he was also involved in a non-fatal shooting in Detroit before White's murder.

Farmington Hills Police are in the process of notifying both the White and Moore family about the discovery of the accused killer's body.
