DETROIT (WWJ) -- After an altercation at a house party, one young woman was killed and another was sent to the hospital. Now, days later, the alleged shooter has turned himself in to Detroit Police.

23-year-old Keyon Fields has been at large since Monday morning, when a dispute over loud music at a party in a multi-family home turned violent.

DPD responded to reports of shots fired in the 12100 block of Santa Rosa Drive, in the area of Livernois and Davison Ave. around 3 a.m. on October 24.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a female victim in her twenties lying dead on the driveway. A second victim -- a woman in her thirties -- had sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital.

At the time, it was believed the shooter was still inside the house, and a shelter-in-place order was instituted for local residents until the situation could be resolved.

Because DPD's Special Response Team was already involved in another barricaded gunman situation, a Michigan State Police Emergency Response Team was called in to assist.

MSP was able to fly a drone camera into the house, and the live feed revealed the suspect had already escaped.

Witnesses identified Fields as the alleged shooter.

Fields was already on probation for carrying a concealed weapon and had a number of bench warrants out for his arrest.

This is an open investigation. WWJ will provide updates as more information becomes available.
