Alleged wallet-snatcher sought by police after he stole from Detroit churchgoer

DETROIT (WWJ) - Authorities are on the look out for a suspect that police allege stole a wallet from a victim while attending a church service in Detroit.

Detroit Police officers said the larceny occurred between 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22 after a churchgoer discovered their wallet had been taken.

The suspect in connection to the crime later used the victim's credit card to purchase gas and snacks.

Officers at the 2nd Precinct have asked for help identifying the suspect and the vehicle involved and have released images from surveillance video.

Anyone with information about the crime has been asked to contact Officer Jackson at 313-596-5240.
