ALPENA (WWJ) -- A 36-year-old man will spend the rest of his life in prison after he was convicted of murdering a woman and a teenage girl in Northern Michigan.

The Michigan Attorney General's Office announced Friday that Brad Srebnik of Alpena was sentenced by Judge Alan Curtis in 26th Circuit Court to life in prison with the possibility of parole.

Srebnik was found guilty by a jury of two counts of first-degree premeditated murder, one count of disinterment and mutilation of a body and two counts of felony firearm in connection with for the 2021 murders of 31-year-old Abby Hill and 17-year-old Brynn Bills.

This comes after 35-year-old Joshua Wirgau of Alpena was sentenced in February to 15-30 years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of disinterment and mutilation of a body, one count of felony accessory after the fact, and involuntary manslaughter for his involvement in the murders.

According investigators, Srebnik killed Bills in August 2021, then burying her body in Wirgau's backyard. The men then allegedly murdered Hill in September 2021 to keep her from telling police what about Bills' death.

Justice has been served in this case thanks to the hard work of the witnesses, the victims' families, law enforcement, Assistant Attorney General Danielle Hagaman-Clark and the Attorney General's office. On behalf of myself and this community, we are extremely grateful for this collaboration."
