Amber Alert canceled for 5-year-old Ohio girl found in Illinois, alleged kidnapper in custody

Authorities believe the child is in danger

(WWJ) An Amber Alert has been canceled for a 5-year-old Ohio girl, and her alleged abductor is in custody.

Police said Ana Burke, of Stark County, was taken by 36-year-old Jonathan Stinnett from Kalamazoo, Michigan.


The child was reported missing after she was last seen at a Goodwill store in Canton, Ohio around 6 p.m. on Thursday with Stinnett.

Police said Stinnett, who is of no relation to the little girl, was believed to be driving a 1991 Silver Ford Aerostar Van with Michigan license plate EHL-7187.

Burke was believed to be in danger, authorities said, as the released photos of both the child and Stinnett to the public and the media.

The Amber Alert was canceled late Friday night when Burke and Stinnett were located in Bloomington, Illinois, and Stinnett was arrested.

Jackson Township Police said Stinnett is facing a a felony kidnapping charge and a misdemeanor interference with custody charge.

Police said Burke was being checked out, but that she was apparently unharmedd.
