An Amber Alert shook metro Detroiters out of their beds at 4 a.m. Friday with this news: Two little girls were missing in Madison Heights.

But by 7 a.m., the situation was resolved. The girls who were abducted in Madison Heights last night had been found safe in Toledo and the Amber Alert has been cancelled.

Madison Heights police say the girls, 1 year and 4 months old, were taken at gunpoint by 18-year old Lemonte Bronner who assaulted the father and took off with the girls from a home on East Hudson Street. There's no word on if Bronner is in custody.

The suspect is believed to be related to the family. He was last seen in a black car on East Hudson Street in Madison Heights. Bronner could be in Detroit or Toledo.  He was armed with a 45-caliber handgun.

When he was on the lam, police said anyone who may have information should call 911 or Madison Heights Police.
