ANN ARBOR (WWJ) -- Ann Arbor police are investigating after multiple recent reports of prowlers peeping into windows in neighborhoods near the University of Michigan campus.
The latest incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of E. Kingsley St. Police said a resident reported seeing a man looking into their home, before running away.
Other similar incidents recently happened on White Street, Dewey Avenue and Thayer Street, police said.
It's unclear if this was the same person, or multiple people. Authorities do not have any surveillance videos of the the suspect or suspects, and investigators are still working to put together a suspect description.
Police said this remains an active and ongoing investigation. In the meantime, they've added extra patrols near student housing areas.
If you do see a window peeper, residents are urged to call 911 immediately.
Police offered these safety tips:
- Close blinds/curtains at night and when lights are on inside.
- Use outdoor lighting (motion sensor or porch lights) to deter prowlers.
- Consider installing cameras or video doorbells for added security.
- Trim landscaping near windows to reduce hiding spots.
