(WWJ) The Washtenaw County Health Department is out with a warning for people who visited two restaurants in Ann Arbor earlier this month.
Authorities say anyone who was at the Brown Jug from October 1-3 or October 6, or at the Chapala Mexican Restaurant on October 1 may have been exposed to the coronavirus.
The Brown Jug is located at 1204 S University Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48104. Chapala Mexican Restaurant is located at 211 N Main St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
People who patronized either restaurant on the specified dates should monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms, stay away from others as much as possible for two weeks and get tested.
A total of 13 cases of the coronavirus have been linked to the two restaurants to date, the health department said.
"In most situations, we can contact individuals exposed to COVID-19 directly," says Jimena Loveluck, MSW, health officer for Washtenaw County. "Unfortunately, with the number of positive cases that report visiting each of these establishments at crowded times, there is a possibility of widespread, public exposure."
Keep in mind that symptoms -- including fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath and fatigues -- may take up to 14 days after exposure to appear, and people are considered contagious two days before they have symptoms.
