(WWJ) - Ann Arbor police are searching for four teenagers who are accused of attacking an elderly man during a home invasion on Monday.
Authorities said the four teens knocked on the 79-year-old victim’s door at 2:30 a.m. Monday morning asking for help -- the teenagers told the victim that they were having car trouble and needed to use his phone.
The victim initially refused, but changed his mind and decided to help.
While the victim was dialing, the teenagers demanded entry into the house -- when the victim refused, he was struck on the head with a rifle, police confirmed.
The teenagers stole a jar of marijuana and took off.
Police said that the victim -- while unnerved -- is expected to make a full recovery.
Investigators are hopeful that neighbors have security systems that may have caught the suspects on camera and the teenagers descriptions can be released.
Anyone with any information regarding this crime has been asked to call the Ann Arbor Police Department 734-794-6390.
