Michigan State are investigating yet another freeway shooting, this one at I-75 and I-94
The victim told investigators he was driving westbound at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday when he passed a gold or tan colored Oldsmobile and noticed someone lying down in the backseat.
The next thing he knew, he said, shots were fired into his vehicle.
The victim was not injured, but police shut down the freeway for several hours to conduct an investigation. It's unknown what was going on in the Oldsmobile and specifically with the body in the backseat, but anyone with information should call Detroit police at 313-596-1200.
Detroit's freeways have been marked by violence and shootings since the pandemic began -- with close to two dozen shootings on the area's busiest thoroughfares since April -- but investigators have said the shootings are not related to each other. The freeway shootings coincide with an uptick in violence across the city overall.
