(WWJ) Tips are wanted in the fatal shooting of a young man on Detroit's west side.
DreVaughn Tellis, 22, was murdered at around 11 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2020, at the Exxon gas station located at 12711 W. 8 Mile Rd., near Meyers Rd.
According to Crime Stoppers of Michigan, DreVaughn was a front seat passenger in a Black Dodge Magnum when he and friends stopped at the Exxon for snacks.
As they returned to their vehicle, shots were fired from the suspect's vehicle — possibly gray Chevy Impala or Malibu, caught on video — striking and killing DreVaughn.
DreVaughn's friends were unharmed, but another customer who was pumping gas was shot and wounded.
While police continue to search for suspects in this case, Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a cash reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to a arrest.
DreVaughn was the father of a 3-year-old child and a second unborn child. He was self-employed as a handyman, and hoped to someday open a local candy store and produce a line of lip gloss products as joint owner of "Rose Malan Cosmetics."
DreVaughn planned to be married to the mother of his children by the time he turned 30, but his life was cut short.
