Suspect arrested in connection with deadly triple shooting at Detroit gas station, reportedly over $3 refund

DETROIT (WWJ) -- Police say a man wanted for a deadly triple shooting at a Detroit gas station over the weekend has been arrested.

Investigators had been searching for 27-year-old Samuel McRae since he fired several shots inside the Mobil gas station on W. McNichols near the Lodge Freeway, early Saturday morning.

One man was killed, and two other men suffered gunshot wounds that were not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.

Police said the shooting happened after an argument over small amount of money; reportedly a $3 refund.

The alleged shooter fled the scene in a white Ford Expedition, but was tracked down by investigators after police released his photo to the media.

"Thank you to the community and the hard-working officers who worked together to locate and arrest this suspect, the Detroit Police Department said, in a Monday update.

Expected charges against McRae are still pending.

The name of the man who was killed has not been released.
