WARREN (WWJ) -- An attempt to steal a Dodge Charger from Warren bowling alley ended in a shootout and a suspect on the run on Tuesday, said police.
Authorities said it happened at the Bonanza Lanes on Hoover Street near 10 Mile. The suspect was reportedly caught in the act by the car's owner before the two exchanged gunfire.
The suspect then fled in a black Chevy Impala and proceeded to crash it a few blocks away near the Kennedy Early Childcare Center prompting officials to lock down the daycare, said police.
Police searched the area for the suspect, but said they only recovered a gun and a device used to clone key fobs.
It's not known what injuries were sustained by the victim or if anyone else was injured.
Warren Police Department are still on the search for the suspect.
