AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) — The search is on for a missing infant in Auburn Hills who police believe was taken by her mother.

The Auburn Hills Police Department issued an Endangered Missing Alert Monday evening for 1-month-old Eliza Prowell-Smith.

Authorities say the baby was last seen on Friday, Feb. 2. Police officials say the girl was taken by her mother, 32-year-old Amanda Prowell-Smith. She was last seen at her home in the 2300 block of South Boulevard, between Opdyke Road and I-75.

Police officials say the mother "has a documented mental status and there are concerns that this child may be in danger." She does not have a car and it is not known whether she left on foot or in a vehicle, according to police.

The mother has no money, no job, and no means of taking care of a child, according to police.

Officials are asking anyone who knows of the mother and infant's whereabouts to call 911 or   the Auburn Hills Police Department at 248-370-4444.
