DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit police have busted a major car theft ring on the city's west side.
News broke Wednesday around 6 a.m. that authorities had declared a barricaded gunman situation on Fielding Street near Evergreen and Outer Drive.

Police say they tracked a stolen car to the home on Fielding Street, where a number of people were inside, WWJ's Charlie Langton reports.
As a precaution, more officers were called to assist and it was declared a barricaded situation.
Around 15 people were taken from the home as police tried to determine if anyone was being held against their will.
No injuries were reported and the investigation from police is ongoing.
