So, a bear walked to a grocery store, and then ....

There's no punchline as that's an actual thing that happened last night at a Meijer in Traverse City where shoppers said a black bear was spotted roaming the parking lot.

The Grand Traverse 911 account posted about it, warning people to stay away. The DNR was called, but by the time he got there, the bear was gone.

The Michigan DNR says black bears are the only type found in Michigan. Opportunistic feeders, they're most active between dawn and dusk.

"Black bears are shy, elusive animals, usually flee when encountered, and are generally not a threat to humans. However, bears are also large and powerful animals that have been known to injure and even kill humans if they feel threatened," the DNR says on its website.
