Farmington Hills man dies after getting hit by Jeep while riding bicycle along Milford Road

HIGHLAND TWP. (WWJ) -- An Oakland County man riding a bike along Milford Road has died after he was hit by a Jeep.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office said 53-year old Todd Luark was found unconscious in the driveway of a home along South Milford Road near Rowe Road in Highland Township around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators said a 45-year old Farmington Hills man driving a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee veered over the white line on the side of the road and hit Luark, who was headed in the same direction.

The bicyclist was found by first responders lying unconscious in the driveway of a nearby home.

Highland Township Fire Department paramedics arrived and performed CPR, but were unable to revive Luark, the sheriff's office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

It's unclear what charges the Jeep driver may face, as the investigation is ongoing.
