DETROIT (WWJ) -- Detroit Police are investigating after a body was found early Wednesday inside burning a house on the city's west side.
Police told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the body of a 29-year-old man was discovered by at around at around 4:20 a.m. after firefighters put out a fire in the home on Curtis St. near Gilchrist, in the area of Outer Drive and the Southfield Freeway.
A Detroit Police spokesperson said investigators are still working to determine a cause of death for the man. However, police said it is believe that the victim may have been shot.
The man is not being publicly identified as this time.
A tipster calling the WWJ Newsroom said authorities had the area surrounding the home blocked off to the public, as police and firefighters remained on the scene later in the morning.
It's unclear how the fire started, as the investigation continues.
