INGHAM COUNTY (WWJ) - Police say they're investigating the death of a Lansing woman as a suspect homicide after her body was found alongside an Ingham County road.
The Ingham County Sheriff's Office said the remains were identified as 29-year-old Alicia Gallegos of Lansing.
Her body was discovered by a motorist Monday, Oct. 16. around 10:30 a.m. as they passed by a wooded area along Iosco Road west of Brogan Road in White Oak Township.
Deputies haven't released information on a possible suspect and continue to investigate the case as a homicide.
Detectives are accepting tips from the public. Anyone with any information has been asked to contact the Ingham County Sheriff's Office at 517-676-8202.
The case is the second time this week a dead body was found on the side of Michigan roads, although the incidents are unrelated.
The Portage Department of Public Safety said on Monday, the remains of 47-year-old Daleian Norris of Kalamazoo was found in a West Michigan ditch over the weekend.
An official cause of death is pending an autopsy report from the medical examiner.
No other details have been released.
