WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) -- A bomb threat closed West Bloomfield High School on Monday, and police are investigating.

School officials say someone called at around 7 a.m. on May 20, stating they'd placed a bomb in the building, on Orchard Lake Rd.

Police responded to investigate, and said they found no evidence of a credible threat. Detectives did discover that the phone number the call was placed from is linked to a several other similar incidents from around the country, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.

The district's superintendent and the school principal sent an email to parents saying that school would be closed for the day as a precaution, adding: "We are working closely with law enforcement to address the situation and will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available."

Officials said the school may reopen for after school activities Monday afternoon.
