(WWJ) -- The Canadian border is open to vaccinated Americans today, but the process will be a little different next time Michiganders prepare to cross into Windsor.
WWJ’s Beth Fisher reports that U.S. citizens visiting Canada for non-essential travel must first download the ArriveCAN app, where vaccination, medical, and travel information must to be uploaded before arriving at the border.
Along with the app, travelers must also bring their vaccination cards, and take a pre-entry COVID-19 test within 72 hours of crossing regardless of vaccination status.
Fully vaccinated travelers who meet the specific requirements will not have to quarantine after entering Canada. However, if the COVID test comes back positive, the ArriveCAN app will ask for a quarantine plan.
Additionally, unvaccinated children under 12 will be allowed into Canada if they are accompanied by vaccinated parents, and meet all of the other requirements.
Canada will lift restrictions for other international travelers beginning on September 7.
