A note from the Newsroom:
CBS News on Friday announced a new round of layoffs and that includes the shutdown of CBS News Radio after nearly 100 years.
So what does that mean for what you will hear on WWJ AM 950?
The first thing to know is that WWJ Newsradio 950 in the Detroit area is NOT going anywhere. We've been on the air since 1920, and will continue to bring you stories on the top local, state, national and international news.
We were owned by CBS for many years, but that hasn't been the case for about a decade. In 2017 CBS sold its local radio stations to the company that is now Audacy.
You still hear CBS News at the top of the hour on WWJ, because we stayed a network affiliate. When CBS News radio shuts down on May 22, that will end. But the news, traffic, weather, sports and business you hear on WWJ will continue.
We very much appreciate all of our listeners. Stay tuned!
You can hear WWJ on your radio: AM 950, or stream us live in the Audacy or TuneIn app. At home, tell your smart speaker to "Play WWJ nine-fifty." >>LISTEN LIVE NOW
