PONTIAC (WWJ) A young Clarkston man was charged with selling marijuana to a 12-year-old boy, according to prosecutors.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald said Kristopher Halterman, 19, sold THC and nicotine vape products to the boy outside his elementary school. Sheriff's deputies identified Halterman as the alleged seller after a parent reported their child had purchased the products.

Authorities found THC, vape devices, marijuana and several thousand dollars in cash during a search of Halterman's grandparents' basement; according to prosecutors.

“This defendant’s alleged actions are shocking,” said Prosecutor McDonald. “Selling drugs to school children puts their health and safety at risk, and I commend the parent who discovered this crime and made our community safer by calling the police.”

Halterman was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and faces up to four years behind bars.
