(WWJ) A 37-year-old man is being held behind bars without bond, charged in a murder in Oakland County's Clawson.

Steven Alexander Rogers of Clawson was arrested Sunday as he was walking out of a home on Nakota Street.

Investigators were looking for him in connection with a home invasion, during which he allegedly hit a woman with a beer bottle.

When he left that house, it's alleged he tried to get into other homes in the area. According to reports, neighbors said he was wrapped in an American flag that he apparently stole off someone's porch.

During their investigation, officers went to Rogers' home where they found the body of a 35-year-old man who had been shot to death.

Officers who arrested Rogers said he confessed to killing the man described as his friend. While a clear motive is unknown, police have said it's believe that the shooting was drug-related.

Rogers was arraigned Wednesday on charges of open murder, home invasion and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony. Bond was denied.

While police have not publicly named the victim, family members identified him as Chris Ramsey, a father of two young girls. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for Ramsey's funeral and other final expenses.

Police said this was the first murder in Clawson in over 15 years.
