(WWJ) The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a young Macomb County man was shot in Pontiac over the weekend.

It happened at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to investigators, as the 20-year-old victim was driving in the area of Pike Street and Martin Luther King Blvd.


The Clinton Township man said he'd just left his aunt's house was stopped at a red light when he heard multiple shots fired. He fled the area and then realized that he was bleeding from the back of his head, officials said.

The man drove himself to the hospital where he was last listed in stable condition.

Speaking to OCSO detectives, the victim said he didn't notice any suspects or suspect vehicles around him when the gunfire rang out, and he has no idea who would want to harm him.

Investigators said the bullet went through the car's headrest before entering the back of the man's head, and multiple shell casings were found at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
