DETROIT (WWJ) — A Clinton Township teenager is awaiting charges for allegedly killing a Detroit woman and wounding her son last week after an argument turned violent.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy is charging 15-year-old Anthony Sneed with multiple counts, including felony murder, in connection with the shooting death of 42-year-old Tasneen Sherrod.

Worthy's office announced the charges Tuesday, saying Sneed is being charged as an adult for the shooting, which also left Sherrod's 15-year-old son hospitalized.

It happened around 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 4, according to Worthy's office, when the two boys had gotten into a fight. Sneed allegedly robbed the other teen of a handgun during the fight and then fired multiple shots, hitting Sherrod and her son, before running away.

When officers showed up to the home on Runyon Street — near 7 Mile and Hoover — they found both victims outside with multiple gunshot wounds. They were both rushed to the hospital, where Sherrod was pronounced dead. Officials did not release the boy's condition.

Sneed turned himself in at the Detroit Police Department's 6th Precinct the following day, the prosecutor's office said.

Sneed is expected to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon on one count each of felony murder – juvenile defendant, second-degree murder, attempted murder and armed robbery, as well as four counts of felony firearm.

Authorities did not release any further details about the shooting, including what sparked the altercation between the teens or whether they knew each other prior to the fight.
