DETROIT (WWJ) -- Following a frigid weekend and a big dumping of snow on Metro Detroit, another Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for our area.

The National Weather Service has issued the advisory beginning at 7 p.m. Monday (1/26) through 10 a.m. Tuesday (1/27). It covers the entire Metro Detroit area, and most of Southeast Michigan.

NWS said very cold wind chills as low as -15F to -20F are expected, with the coldest conditions down near the Ohio state line.

It's critically important to bundle up if going out, even for a short time, and to keep pets indoors overnight. Forecasters say the cold at this level could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

And while it looks like we won't see much (if any) more snow this week, AccuWeather Meteorologist Joe Lundberg says: "The one thing we're not escaping: the cold; there's plenty of that."

"Temperatures no better than the teens today (Monday), all the way through Friday. That means nighttime lows obviously are going to be in the single digits. In fact, there could be a couple of nights later this week when we drop below zero."
