A Commerce Township woman has died after a house fire Friday morning.
The Oakland County Sheriff's Department says the 62-year old victim was trapped in an upstairs bedroom in a house on the 4000 block of Kara Ct. when the fire started around 10 a.m.
A person who called 911 told dispatchers that the woman was upstairs. Commerce Township firefighters found the woman after putting out the flames. She was taken to Huron Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Another man was also in the house and managed to escape without any injuries.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Fire Investigation Unit say it appears the cause of the fire was accidental.
