BERLIN TWP (WWJ) A crash between a car and a UTV in St. Clair County left two teen girls with serious injuries.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, at Berville and Masters roads in Berlin Township.

According to investigators; a 16-year-old Berlin Township girl was driving a side-by-side 2022 Kawasaki Mule UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) westbound on Masters, accompanied by a 15-year-old Armada girl, when she failed to yield to a Chevy Equinox.

An 80-year-old man drove the Equinox, along with an 81-year-old woman in the passenger’s seat, both from Armada.

The impact ejected the teens from the UTV. Paramedics rushed them to the Macomb McLaren Hospital with serious injuries, according to investigators.

Their exact conditions were not released.

No other injuries were reported.

Richmond/Lenox Emergency Services and the Berlin Township Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Investigators said excessive speed, alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors.
