REDFORD TWP. (WWJ) – The search for a suspect continues after a deadly shooting in Redford Township over the weekend.
Shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday police were called to Garfield and Clarita Streets — near 7 Mile and Grand River — on reports of a man who had been shot.
When officers showed up they found the 27-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds and he was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
As of Sunday afternoon, no suspects have been arrested. It was not clear if authorities had identified any possible suspects.
A possible motive in the case has not been disclosed, but Redford Twp. police officials have said it appears to be a targeted shooting and there is no threat to the public.
Officials are asking anyone who knows something about the shooting or may have any surveillance footage that would have captured any vehicles in the area to contact Edward French at 313-387-2579.
