(WWJ) Investigators looking into a deadly shooting in Oakland County say it involved men who loved the same woman.
Southfield and Oak Park Police Officers responded at around 3:15 p.m. Thursday. to the area of 9 Mile and Greenfield on reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, police found a wounded 27-year-old Taylor man. Despite life-saving efforts at the scene, police said, the victim was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Also at the scene, police found a suspect, identified as a 21-year-Old Oak Park man, who was immediately taken into custody.
During the investigation, police said it was discovered that there was a second suspect involved: a 21-year-old Detroit man. He was apprehended a short time later without incident on 8 Mile Rd. near Greenfield.
One gun belonging to the suspect was recovered at the scene of the shooting and another was recovered when a search warrant was served in Detroit.
As for a motive for the killing, investigators believe that a love triangle was involved.
Police said the suspects were known to the victim, and the shooting apparently stemmed from a previous relationship between the victim's girlfriend and her ex-boyfriend.
Both suspects were scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday.
No names have been released.
