(WWJ) The public is being asked to keep an eye out for a Dearborn, Michigan, man who allegedly kidnapped his 7-year-old daughter from her mother's home in Pennsylvania.

Jafar Almaarej, 39, is wanted by the Millcreek Police Department on charges of Kidnapping, Interference with the Custody of Children, and Terroristic Threats.

It's alleged that Almaarej took the child from her home on East Grandview Blvd. in Millcreek, outside of Erie, Sunday afternoon, and that he threatened the child's mother.

Millcreek police Lt. Adam Hardner said Almaarej does not have custody of the child.

"The complainant had stated that her ex-husband had come to visit and he departed with... it's his biological daughter, and left the area, while she (the mother) was at work," Hardner told WWJ's Dan Jenkins. "The complainant has sole custody, and there's an active protection from abuse order stating no contact."

The Erie Times-News reports Almaarej is accused of sending a text to the mom stating that if she called police or the FBI they would have to "search for their bones," according to information in an affidavit.

Almaarej was last seen driving a black four-door Jeep Wrangler, Michigan license plate: 050G994. Officials said it is possible that he has switched out that license plate.

Police told WWJ that investigators have reason to believe that the suspect has returned to Michigan.

As for where may have taken the child, that's not clear.

Hardner said Millcreek police are in contact with police in Metro Detroit, where Almaarej lives and has ties.

Anyone who sees Almaarej or the Jeep should call 911.
