DEARBORN (WWJ) -- Dearborn Police are seeking the public's help to identify a man wanted for home invasion who may also be connected to other robberies out-of-state.
Police said, on March 4 at approximately 8 p.m., the man walked up to the front door of a home on Barrie (7600 block), in the area of Tireman and Greenfield. He activated the video doorbell and tried to open the locked door after receiving no answer.
He went inside the home via a window and started stealing items from inside, according to police.
Video surveillance systems showed the man fleeing the house through adjoining backyards, police said.
"The Department has information that leads them to believe this individual may be connected to a string of breaking-and-entering incidents in other parts of the country using a similar method," Dearborn Police said in a press release.
Dearborn Police said Dearborn residents should keep their doors and windows locked, "stay cautious and be alert."
Both state and federal partners are working to help Dearborn Police identify and arrest the suspect.
"Our residents have a right to feel safe and secure in their homes, and this brazen act violates that right," Police Chief Issa Shahin said in the release.
