(WWJ) The death of a family of three near Lansing, including two young children, is now believed to be a triple homicide—after police originally investigated it as a murder-suicide.
Anson Zwick, 3, Vivian Zwick, 5, and their Dad, Joseph Lechleitner, 47, were found shot at the children’s home in Delta Township, about six miles west of Lansing in the late evening of April 13.
Vivian and Lechleitner were killed at the scene. Anson died two days later from his injuries.
Lechleitner was from the Shingleton area of the Upper Peninsula. The children lived with their mother in Eaton County, according to multiple reports.
The Eaton County Sheriff’ s Officer originally pinned the killings on Lechleitner. Now, they believe an unknown suspect targeted the family and murdered them.
WLNS reports the mother is still alive, but no further details have been released on her whereabouts.
No arrests have been made.
