
DETROIT (WWJ) – The city of Detroit is gearing up for its second-ever September North American International Auto Show, set to kick off Wednesday and open to the public on Saturday, running through Sept. 24 at Huntington Place.
Despite the looming cloud of a potential UAW strike later this week, Mayor Mike Duggan got a sneak preview of the show floor on Tuesday, calling the NAIAS “a time to celebrate what is really the center of our economy.”
Here’s a look at what you’ll need to know before heading down to the Auto Show over the next couple weeks.

Sept. 16-24: Public Show – (Runs 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until the final Sunday, when it closes at 7 p.m.)
Tickets
Public show tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for seniors and $10 for kids. They can be bought in advance online or at ticket booths inside Huntington Place.
Tickets for Technology Days and AutoMobili-D are $75, while Charity Preview tickets start at $400. They can only be bought online.
Technology Days and AutoMobili-D
AutoMobili-D, now in its eighth year, will be a technology exhibit featuring over 50 mobility and tech displays, as well as 150 startups in the Plug and Play Detroit Startup Arena.
Showgoers will see “innovative and future technologies ranging from inventive software and AI platforms to advanced charging stations, drones and the latest research and development from leading universities.
What to expect from the public show
The public show will feature over two dozen brands showing off their latest cars, trucks, SUVs and EVs.
Among the highlights of displays this year will be the Powering Michigan EV experience, with BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Ford, Tesla and Volkswagen taking part in the debut of the indoor track.
There will also be an Alef Flying Cars exhibit and tracks for Ford, Jeep and Ram.
