DETROIT (WWJ) -- A former Detroit Police officer is facing a long list of charges for a domestic violence incident early this year.

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office announced Tuesday that 31-year-old Justice Calvin has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Felony Firearm, Larceny from the Person, and Domestic Violence.

Prosecutors said — late on the night of January 26, while Calvin was still working as a cop for the DPD — he followed a 26-year-old St. Clair Shores woman to the parking lot of a nursing home on Schaefer Highway on Detroit's northwest side.

That's where Calvin allegedly pointed his gun at the victim, while dressed in his full Detroit Police uniform, before forcefully pulling her out of a car and assaulting her.

Officials said Calvin and the woman have children together.

He turned himself into authorities Tuesday for an arraignment in 36th District Court.

Calvin received a $50,000 personal bond with a GPS tether and no contact with the complainant upon his release.

His next scheduled court date in a probable cause conference on Aug. 28.

The Detroit News reported Calvin's gun was taken away from him under Michigan's new red flag laws.

The Detroit Police Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Calvin. The WCPO said he is no longer employed by the DPD.
