Detroit man arrested for suspected drunk driving, possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms

ROYAL OAK TOWNSHIP (WWJ) A Detroit man is in custody for possession of mushrooms and a gun; and for suspected drunk driving.

In a statement on 'X', Michigan State Police said they stopped a car for going thirty five miles over the speed limit, 75 mph in a 40 mph zone. It happened in the area of Eight Mile and Mendota in Royal Oak Township around 2:35 a.m. Friday.

The trooper conducted field sobriety tests on the driver, 36 of Detroit; because of his observations of mannerisms and behavior, State Police said.

The driver was arrested for High BAC OWI.

Troopers also discovered a a firearm in the glovebox and psilocybin mushrooms, an illegal and hallucinogenic type of mushroom.

He’s being lodged at the Oakland County Jail awaiting prosecutor review.
