DETROIT (WWJ) A Detroit man was arraigned and remanded to jail in connection to the deadly shooting of his girlfriend outside a liquor store on the city’s west side, prosecutors said.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Jazzie Jermale Love, 34, with the murder of Uniqua Sanders, 32, of Detroit.

Prosecutors said— on Thursday (January 16) around 7:20 p.m.— Detroit Police officers were called to a liquor store on 10700 W. 8 Mile, near Wyoming. When they arrived, officers found Sanders outside of the store in her car with a gunshot wound to her head.

Medics pronounced her dead at the scene.

According to prosecutors; police investigation suggests Love and Sanders got into an argument inside of her car.

In the middle of the argument, Love allegedly walked from the passenger's side to the driver's side and shot her in the head with a handgun, prosecutors said.

Love was charged with First-Degree Murder, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Felony Firearm. He was arraigned on Sunday, January 19th, in 36th District Court and denied bond.

He is due back in court next Tuesday, January 28th, for a Probable Cause Conference. His Preliminary Examination is slated for February 4th.
