DETROIT (WWJ) — A Detroit man is facing first-degree murder charges following a shooting stemming from an argument on Valentine’s Day.
Keith Arrington, Jr. is accused of using a shotgun to kill 21-year-old Lattriece Galloway and 40-year-old Edward Clark in the basement of a home on Detroit’s west side.
The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 on Coyle Street, near Fenkell and Greenfield, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
Detroit police were called to the home after getting reports of a shooting at the home and when officers showed up they found Galloway and Clark in the basement. Officials said Galloway had been shot in the neck and Clark in the chest.
They were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The prosecutor’s office says Arrington and the victims knew each other, but no other details about the case, including what sparked the argument that led to the shooting, have been released.
Officials did not say when or where Arrington, 30, was arrested.
Arrington was arraigned Monday in 36th District Court on two counts of first-degree murder, one count of felon in possession of a firearm and three counts of felony firearm.
Arrington was remanded to jail and his next court date has been scheduled for Feb. 25.
